Game Used Mask -
WHA Cleveland Crusaders 1972-73
A fantastic World Hockey Association relic, this mask was used by Bob Whidden, Gerry Cheevers’ goaltending “partner” during the WHA’s inaugural season in “72-73, and who appeared in over 20 games in each of the Cleveland Crusaders’ four seasons. Painted in a deep purple and cream with metallic specs, the mask shows plenty of game use with chips/scrapes in the paint and sweat-stained interior foam padding. The original straps are long gone and a wide strip of white athletic tape appears to have been removed from the eye area, leaving tape residue.
